APRIL 2009


Date/Time: Sunday, April 5th at 2:00 P.M
Event: Wildflower Search
Cost: $5 per person.  This includes use of the grounds, nature center, pavilion and bird blind.  Friends of Buckley admitted free.
Description: We will go off-site to search for the beauties of spring along a near-by creek. Easy walking.

MAY 2009


Date/Time: Saturday, May 9th at 7:00 A.M.
Event: Buckley’s Birdathon
Cost: Free admission
Description: As part of our fundraising efforts we've obtained pledges for the number of bird species we'll encounter today.  Bring your binoculars.

AUGUST 2009


ate/Time: Saturday, August 29th at 8:00 P.M.
Event: Bats of the Bluegrass Region
Cost: Free Admission-Consider a donation
Description: Ecologists from Eco-Tech Consultants will present bat life histories, dispel myths, provide ways to attract them and weather permitting will have mist nets to see capture methods with bat detectors to hear their calls.

SEPTEMBER 2009


Date/Time: Saturday, September 26th  at 2:00 P.M.
Event: Geocache
Cost: $5 per person.  This includes use of the grounds, nature center, pavilion and bird blind.  Friends of Buckley admitted free.
Description: Bring your G.P.S.  Follow clues to search for the final coordinates.

OCTOBER 2009


Date/Time: Sunday, October 11th at 2:00 P.M.
Event: Exotic Reptiles with Scott Braunstein of the House of Reptiles, Inc.
Cost: $5 per person.  This includes use of the grounds, nature center, pavilion and bird blind.  Friends of Buckley admitted free.
Description: Have fun learning about the “unwanted” reptiles that folks love to hate with Scott & his live friends.
Date/Time: Saturday October 24th at 7:00 P.M.
Event: Star Gazing
Cost: $5.00/person. Friends of Buckley Admitted Free
Description: With the knowledge and telescope of Tom Webster we will examine the cool crisp autumn sky and learn about the Andromeda Galaxy (2 million light years away) see Craters on the Moon, the Big Dipper, Double Stars, Ring Nebula, constellations, Jupiter and more.  Enjoy a cup of cider and cookies.  Bring a blanket or lawn chair. Cancelled if bad weather.

DECEMBER 2009


Date/Time: Sunday, December 19th at 8:00 A. M.
Event: Audubon Christmas Bird Count
Cost: $5 per person.  This includes use of the grounds, nature center, pavilion and bird blind.  Friends of Buckley admitted free.
Description: Come join us on this cool crisp morning to learn more about our winter wonders of the bird world.  Bring binoculars and a warm beverage.
